Dear Experts,

 

We are using BO 4.1 SP4 version.While using BEx query as a source in the Analysis Edition For OLAP,we are facing error like"An error occurred in the MDAS service while processing a request from Analysis, edition for OLAP. Try the operation again. If the problem persists, please contact your administrator. (AOC00041)".The description as "Failed to get representation: RuntimeException occurred : java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The BICS ValueException type [NO_OPERATION] is not supporte".

 

Please suggest on this.

When we display an attribute of Master Data in key & text, we don't succeed to export it in excel in 2 columns.

Do you know how to do it ?

Hi,i hav created Bex Query and a analysis report on top of it.I did some change in the bex query  i.e., i removed one condition from the beX query and its not getting reflected in the report.I get the same results as before.wat can i do to rectify this?

Hi,

 

Getting a strange error message with OLAP analysis over a bex query.

 

This particular report has recently starting giving the following error message -

 

"Analysis edition for OLAP could not find one or more members in this analysis, possibly because the cube has been updated. The hierarchy containing these members has been removed to allow the analysis to be executed."

 

Strange things is if I select ok then it still appears to be refreshing the data.

 

Ive tried rebuilding the query (it works fine in Bex), creating a brand new report etc. The only way I can replicate the error is by creating 3 tabs and removing some of the key figures on the third tab.

 

The query/cube hasnt been changed for months, so I can discount that.

 

We're on 4.0 SP2 FP15.

 

Anybody has similar errors they could share?

Hello. Is there a way to refresh the entire workspace when opening? Currently the active sheet is refreshed. To refresh the remaining sheets within the workspace you must click on them, respectively. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi,

 

We just recently upgraded from 3.1 to 4.0 (SP6). We are encountering problems with OLAP reports that used to run fine in Voyager (3.1), but now are doing strange things in Analysis (4.0). One major problem is how the hierarchies are being displayed in the dimensions. For example, the time dimension in Voyager displays correctly (see image on left), whereas the time dimension in Analysis is not correct (see image on right)::

 

  

Both Voyager and Analysis are connecting to the same Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services database. It would be greatly appreciated if you could provide any help with understanding why we are encountering this dimension hierarchy display issue in BI4.0 Analysis.

My cube environment is Microsoft SQL Server 2005.  We have installed Analysis, edition for OLAP 4.0, SP 4.  We didn't install higher service packs due to using 2005 instead of 2008.  Although our intention is to upgrade to 2008 in a few months, as well as BI Suite 4.1.

 

It is important to take you through the steps that lead up to getting the error.

 

This is the Workspace after connecting to the OLAP Cube.  The connection process works okay.

 

My goal is to put 1 measure in the Workspace as a column.   So, next expanded the Regular Sales Measure Group and highlighted 1 measure.  Then dragged that 1 measure into the Layout Columns section.  It was the only section that it allowed me to drop this measure into.  After I did that, it gave me the Error shown below.  When clicked on OK, it showed me it had brought in all 149 measures in the columns instead of just the 1 dragged over. into the Layout Columns.    Also you can see Measures in the Layout Columns.  Has anyone experienced this problem?  Am I doing something wrong in the Analysis Tool or is something wrong in the Cube itself?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

 

I am using BI4.0 SP6.

 

I am trying to delete a calculation named "Custom Calculation 1", but when right click on it and choose "Custom calculation > Delete", the analysis crosstab just reads "Processing..." forever.

 

Please help.

Hi all,

 

We are using time-dependent hierarchies in combination with a key date variable.

 

Tools used: Query designer based on SAP BW 7.4 and BO 4.0.

 

The following steps are executed:

1. Report is executed and key date is prompted
2. According to the key date, the correct time-dependent organisation hierarchy will be used in drill-down
3. Bring up variable screen again and select different key date
4. The drill-down changes according to the now correct time-dependent organisation hierarchy

 

The above scenario works for BEx Analyzer, BEx Web, Analysis for Office - but not for Analysis for OLAP.

 

Whenever I run through this scenario and confirm the updated key date, the following error is displayed:

cube.get.dimension.info.runtime.error : java.lang.IllegalStateException: There is no default hierarchy for dimension [ORG].

In the user guide I don't find any specifics about the hierarchies and since it works in all the other applications, I wonder where the error is coming from. I also could not find it anywhere else in the forum.

 

Has anyone experienced the same error or any suggestions?

Hello Experts,

 

My current client hesitates to use Analysis Edition for OLAP, even if it seems to be the best solution to migrate the Bex Web report to BO with the same functionalities.

 

Is anybody having recent information from SAP regarding the position of Analysis in the roadmap. Is it still enhancements in the pipe ?

Can we bet on this tool ? :-)

 

I know many clients use Analysis but I would like to make sure before telling my current one to use it.

After selecting Add, the Segments disappeared:

My users have many AOLAP reports that use HANA calculation views as their data source. When these users export the reports to Excel, the resulting Excel file contains twice as many tabs as are present on the reports. For each tab on the AOLAP report, the Excel file contains an accompanying tab with a "+" suffix in the tab name (e.g., "Customers", "Customers+", "Vendors", "Vendors+", etc.); this accompanying tab lists the criteria (e.g., start date, end date, etc.) the user selected upon loading the report. Is there a way to suppress these criteria tabs...or perhaps include only one such tab, since the criteria is the same for the entire report and, therefore, doesn't need to be repeated for every tab?

 

Also, the 'Export to XLSX' dialog box that appears when the user presses the 'Export to Excel' button is confusing:

• It displays the names of all the tabs in the report twice, in a parent/child relationship. When either the parent or child checkbox is selected or de-selected, the child or parent is also selected or de-selected. What is the purpose of this?
• Selecting or de-selecting the 'Repeat outer header members' checkbox doesn't seem to have any effect upon the resulting export....or the selection and de-selection described above. What is its purpose?

Hi everyone,

 

I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 and Using IE 9.

 

I have a number of different hierarchy's on a variety of characteristics in Bex. When I drag / drop any of these into an OLAP Analysis Workspace I get this error

 

 

If you drag the hierarchy in again it generally works but OLAP Analysis behavior goes a bit skewy after that.

 

The hierarchies work perfectly in BO Analysis for MS Office & BEx.

 

I get a similar message in Chrome so I don't beleive its browser related.

 

 

Any suggestions welcome!

Hi,

 

I am trying to create a OLAP Connection to a multitenant SAP HANA DB (SP 09) from CMS ( 4.0 SP 05).But I am getting below error

 

 

I checked SAP Note#1779252 and installed SAP HANA Studio and was able to connect to the DB w/o any issue.Please suggest.

Hello BI experts,

 

More and more often our users have this pop up when they work hardly with BO (Analysis for Olap 4.1 SP Patch 5) and IE 11.0.9600.17691 :

In English, this means "Are you sure to quit this page?"

 

They specially have this message when the customize the layout and then come back to the prompt window.

But this message looks like random.

 

Do you have any idea to solve this annoying problem ?

Hello,

We are using Analysis workspace report (OLAP for analysis) based on bex queries.

We can NOT modify the sort by default imposed by OLAP for analysis, at navigation tab and cross table tab.

 

1) On the navigation tab : OLAP displays the bex objects using automatcally a sort by decription.
We would like modify this bex objects displaying (by grouping date axes at the first, then organisaion axes....).

 

2) When we add an object to the cross tab (result), OLAP uses automatically a sort by text (on the values).
We would like using rather that a sort by keys. In other words, we don't like having to do the sort by key after each new navigation.

 

Do you have any idea to resolve that ?
