Number of Cells Limit? - The MDAS service encountered an error.
Hi,
I have been pretty impressed with how well Analysis has been able to browse and display large cubes. However, I did encounter a MDAS service error when browsing a large cube, in which, I believe has more than 500,000 cells (see screenshot below). Is there a limit on the number of cells that Analysis will browse? In the example below, Analysis was able to browse 447,723 cells before it encountered the following error:
- Runtime error occured : java.lang.IllegalStateException: ResultSet is null, refreshData has not been called

Strange IE pop-up "Are you sure to quite this page ?"
Hello BI experts,
More and more often our users have this pop up when they work hardly with BO (Analysis for Olap 4.1 SP Patch 5) and IE 11.0.9600.17691 :
In English, this means "Are you sure to quit this page?"
They specially have this message when the customize the layout and then come back to the prompt window.
But this message looks like random.
Do you have any idea to solve this annoying problem ?

Unable to see Dimension Values in Analysis for Excel.
Hi Guys,
I have created an Analytic View in SAP HANA and trying to view data in BO Analysis for Excel.
Here am seeing only measures accumulated value(in one row), and missing dimension values.
Any one has faced the same issue?

Skip Variable screen
Hello, I have searched SCN and AOLAP documentation before posting the below question. Is there an option to bypass the variable screen in Analysis for OLAP? What I mean is in my workspace, for 3 tabs I have say 3 queries. Each query is connected from BI by BICS, All the 3 queries has variable screen but with default values populated. When I run my AOLAP I don't want the variable screen to pop up for the query and also when I move across tabs.(just use default values) In BI we have an option to bypass by variable_screen = X. I am not interested in URL based because the default values of my variables are dynamic. Note: I have already merged variable and saved the prompts in initial variable screen Regards, B

Failed to get connections for connection using session locale
Hi,
I am trying to create a OLAP Connection to a multitenant SAP HANA DB (SP 09) from CMS ( 4.0 SP 05).But I am getting below error
I checked SAP Note#1779252 and installed SAP HANA Studio and was able to connect to the DB w/o any issue.Please suggest.

Collapse Keyfigure folder by default
Hello,
I am posting this question after checking admin/user guides and SCN.
In A-OLAP we have some queries with many keyfigures.
The default view shows the keyfigure folder in expanded format.
Can you please tell me if there is a setting where we can collapse the Keyfigure folder by default, the user can open/expand if needed.

BI Inbox/OpenDocument links - retain entered prompt values?
All of the reporting we are currently converting from Bex to Analysis for OLAP are being saved with "save prompt values" unchecked.
We were planning to train users to select the checkbox/send a report via BI Inbox if they wish to send others a report with particular variable selections.
This does not work unless the user makes some other change outside the prompt screen (even something as simple as changing totals display).
Going to the share menu and creating an OpenDocument link, I have noticed that the generated link returns the CUID of the original report if changes outside the prompt screen are not made, while if they are made, a new CUID is generated. This seems to indicate that BOBJ is not registering prompt entries (when "save prompts" is selected) by themselves as "changes".
Does anyone have any suggestions that would allow users to select the "save prompt values" checkbox, enter their own prompts, and send to other users so that prompt entries are retained without having to make any other changes to the report?
We are on BOBJ 4.1 SP 2 Patch 3.

Combine 2 Bex Queries in SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP-SAP BO 4.1
Hi Experts,
Can I Combine 2 Bex queries using SAP BO Analysis for OLAP Tool(in SAP BO 4.1 version)?
"Company Code" is the common object in both the queries.
I am able to add multiple queries in single OLAP Report but i am not able to merge them.

Merge Prompts - SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1
Our OLAP View has 3 sheets, each out of different query from a common cube connnection.
All the 3 queries has exactly same input variables.
From Promt merge functionality, could we expect user to enter the variable just once for all the 3 sheets?
Now, clicking on each sheets - prompts user each time.
Observation:
Clicking on merge prompt in the prompt screen changes the name of the connection to "SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse"
Any help is highly appreciated

BO 4.1 SP5 OLAP connection getting failed to HANA SPS09
Hi
We already installed HANA database on the db server as MDC (multi-tenant database container) and want to connect BO 4.1 SP5 to HANA DB using OLAP connection but it is giving error (BO_CONN_ERROR) like failed to get connection.
We have followe SAP note 1779252
We dont have any firwall blocking this port as I am able to connect from HANA studio installed.
Also able to connect through IDT using JDBC driver to SAP HANA Database 1.0 .
BO server OS: Windows server 2012
HANA Database OS : Linux
HANA DB Version: HANA 1.0 Revision 93 (MDC)

SSO on OLAP Analysis not working for Analysis 1.4 version
Hi All,
Analysis for OLAP is not working for SSO. I am using below versions of software's.
BO ANALYSIS 1.4
BOBJ 4.0 SPS 4 PATCH 5
SAP NETWEAVER 7.01 SP 8
BW 7.01 SPS 5
I have created BICS OLAP connection from BOBJ CMC. When I try to create report from SAP Netweaver it is showing below message, but this same connection is working with Analysis Office, in which it is prompted the log in screen for BW.
Is it the expected behavior? or I missed any configurations? It will be helpful if anyone can share your thoughts on this issue.

Try to use calculations in Analysis get 'formula is invalid' error
Hi,
I am trying to use the Analysis for OLAP version. I built a query directly based on cube, and select two column of key figures and click 'add' function of the 'Calculations', but it will throw the error message as 'Formula is invalid'. Then I tried other functions, it looks all the Calculation fail with the same error, does anyone has some suggestion about this? Thanks a lot.

Scheduling a Report
Hi,
Is there any way to schedule an Analysis report?
There is a monthly need to have several Analysis reports created with varying dimension values. It would be great to be able to have these report automatically generated based on at least the changing time period. Please let me know if there is any way to do that.

Not Able to Delete a Calculation
Hi,
I am using BI4.0 SP6.
I am trying to delete a calculation named "Custom Calculation 1", but when right click on it and choose "Custom calculation > Delete", the analysis crosstab just reads "Processing..." forever.

Personal variant - default option
Hi,
In Analysis for OLAP there is possibility to store personal variants with additional option --> default.
Please share with me, have you have found any other serviceableness for that than marking one of personal variants as default?

How can I create a custom calculation that will not error when adding NULL values?
Hi,
Version: BI 4.0 SP8.3
Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services
Question: How can I create a custom calculation that will not produce the following error when adding a NULL value?
I am getting this error:
The MDAS service encountered an error.
Failed to get representation: RuntimeException occurred : com.sap.ip.bi.bics.exceptions.BicsProgrammErrorException: Invalid program status: Invalid new element, level to low: 1 but expected 2
I believe the error is occurring due to the Total Expenses custom calculation (see red arrow below):
Total Expenses is simply adding the values from the other custom calculations above it (see blue arrows above).
The formula is: 'FORMULA/[Activity]/Formula1' + 'FORMULA/[Activity]/Formula4' + 'FORMULA/[Activity]/Formula6'
This formula works great when all three calculations have values. The problem arises when one of them has a NULL value.
How can I create a custom calculation that will not fail when adding NULL values?
