Error in MDAS service while processing a request from AOLAP

Dear Experts,

 

We are using BO 4.1 SP4 version.While using BEx query as a source in the Analysis Edition For OLAP,we are facing error like"An error occurred in the MDAS service while processing a request from Analysis, edition for OLAP. Try the operation again. If the problem persists, please contact your administrator. (AOC00041)".The description as "Failed to get representation: RuntimeException occurred : java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The BICS ValueException type [NO_OPERATION] is not supporte".

 

Please suggest on this.

Error when bringing BEx Hierarchy into OLAP Analysis

Hi everyone,

 

I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 and Using IE 9.

 

I have a number of different hierarchy's on a variety of characteristics in Bex. When I drag / drop any of these into an OLAP Analysis Workspace I get this error

If you drag the hierarchy in again it generally works but OLAP Analysis behavior goes a bit skewy after that.

 

The hierarchies work perfectly in BO Analysis for MS Office & BEx.

 

I get a similar message in Chrome so I don't beleive its browser related.

 

 

Any suggestions welcome!

Connection Folder Stucture

When selecting a Connection for Analysis for OLAP the dialog box lists all of the connections in one long list.

 

Is there a setting that can be applied so the BO Connection Folder structure will be shown when you are selecting a connection?

How can't I export the extra sheet with prompts values , when i export to excel in BO 4.1 Sp2

Hi 

 

The new feature in BO 4.1  SP2  Analysis Edition for OLAP ,  when you export to excel and new extra sheet become with the excel;

looking in SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP User Guide  it says this

"

19.1 Exporting data to excel

 

For each analysis that has prompt values associated with it, a separate sheet is added to the Excel

workbook to display the prompt values."

 

 

I look in aplication and Adatative Process Server, in User Profile , in WorkSpace , in order to avoid to export the extra sheet but there is nothing about.

 

It´s possible to avoid to export the extra sheet with prompt values?

Where can  I modify  In BO to do that?

Comma(,) separator coming instead of Decimal(.) User specific

Hello Everyone,

 

I have searched forum before posting this but did not get any suitable solution.

 

I am creating an AAO report for OLAP. In measures data is coming with " , " comma separator instead of Decimal ( . ) for User. while opening with administrator it is coming fine.

 

Incorrect Data is                                              Correct Data is

0,01                                                                0.01

 

 

Please suggest if any setting is there or any other solution.

Analysis for OLAP is not saving with the BEx query

Hi experts,

 

I have a problem with Analysis for OLAP, this is the steps to explain:

1) On BI Launch Pad, create a new analysis document

2) Choose a BEx query

3) Select the variable's values

4) Ok, the report is on the screen, with with columns, lines and values...

5) Save this document on Favorites folder (for example)

6) Close the Analysis for OLAP

7) Go to Favorite folder and open the analysis document saved in previous steps

8) THE PROBLEM: Analysis for OLAP prompt again to select the BEx query.

 

This occur with some BEx, with other BEx queries the analysis only prompt the BEx variables.

 

I suspect that could be some permission issue, but I using a administrator user.

 

I'm working with BO 4.1 SP3 and BW 7.01

Try to use calculations in Analysis get 'formula is invalid' error

Hi,

 

I am trying to use the Analysis for OLAP version. I built a query directly based on cube, and select two column of key figures and click 'add' function of the 'Calculations', but it will throw the error message as 'Formula is invalid'. Then I tried other functions, it looks all the Calculation fail with the same error, does anyone has some suggestion about this? Thanks a lot.

BO 4.1 SP5 OLAP connection getting failed to HANA SPS09

Hi

 

We already installed HANA database on the db server as MDC (multi-tenant database container) and want to connect BO 4.1 SP5 to HANA DB using OLAP connection but it is giving error (BO_CONN_ERROR) like failed to get connection.

We have followe SAP note 1779252

 

We dont have any firwall blocking this port as I am able to connect from HANA studio installed.

Also able to connect through IDT using JDBC driver to SAP HANA Database 1.0 .

 

BO server OS: Windows server 2012

HANA Database OS : Linux

HANA DB Version: HANA 1.0 Revision 93 (MDC)

Patterns in Selection Option Variables in Analysis for OLAP

Hello Experts,

 

My organization is in the process of moving from BEx Web Analyzer queries to Analysis for OLAP reports (we're on BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Patch 3). We are using the pre-existing BEx queries as data providers which has worked well for the most part.

 

An issue we're running into involves variables of the Selection Option type. Many of our users have a vertical list of values for which they want to run a report. We have been teaching them to copy/paste values into Microsoft Word and use the Replace functionality to get them into a horizontal list separated by semicolons (100000001; 100000002; etc). Pasting these values into Analysis does not work the same as it did in BEx and I'm trying to find a similar workaround so we don't have to create a new variable and change over 50 pre-existing queries. Any ideas?

Extremely slow Excel Export after 4.1 SP4 Patch 2

Hello,

 

We've recently upgraded from BI 4.1 SP01 Patch 5 to BI 4.1 SP04 Patch 2.

 

When exporting larger datasets from AOLAP based on a sap bw 7.4 Patch 8 bex query, resulting in greater than 250K cells in XLSX, performance is very poor.


Before the upgrade, we could export 1m cells in under 40 seconds.  Now the same query's are taking over 8-10 minutes to export.  The query itself runs between 1-2 minutes.  And response is fairly quick to navigate pages/scroll.

 

In transaction sm50, we can see that there is communication between BI and BW during the entire process of export.  It appears to not be using cache and is rerunning the entire query.

 

We see the following programs being utilized by BW during the export process

CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA

CL_RSMD_RS_READ_MDATA

SAPMSSY1

SAPLSM02

SAPLRSBOLAP_BICS_PROVIDER

 

 

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

User name or wrong password using OLAP CN&SSO

Hi all,

we have a BI 4 Edge installation SP4 Patch1. In our scenario we have a SSAS 2008 DW with IIS configured for the access to Microsoft olap cubes. We configured SAP BO users and SSAS users for synchronization with Active Directory.

 

We're facing an issue related with the connection with these cubes. If se create an OLAP Connection using "Prompt" authentication no matter arises. User open an Analysis OLAP View, select the connection, insert username and password and can access to DW. If we change this authentication method to SSO or "BusinessObjects Credential mappings", when a user tries to use this connection a "username or password is wrong" message is returned.

 

The strange thing is also that if we test the same connection, created via Information Design Tool, logging with AD user to CMS, no matter arises.

 

Did someone face this problem?

SSO on OLAP Analysis not working for Analysis 1.4 version

Hi All,

 

Analysis for OLAP is not working for SSO. I am using below versions of software's.

 

BO ANALYSIS 1.4

BOBJ 4.0 SPS 4 PATCH 5

SAP NETWEAVER 7.01 SP 8

BW 7.01 SPS 5

 

I have created BICS OLAP connection from BOBJ CMC. When I try to create report from SAP Netweaver it is showing below message, but this same connection is working with Analysis Office, in which it is prompted the log in screen for BW.

Is it the expected behavior? or I missed any configurations? It will be helpful if anyone can share your thoughts on this issue.

How to Default Number and Date format settings in OLAP Analysis

Hello Experts,

 

Is there any settings to default the country specific number and date formatting in BO OLAP Analysis.

 

I am looking to change the number format and date format to default to US format so as to not to change the formats for evey single OLAP reports in the Analysis Workspace.

Sort Fiscal Month in Analysis Edition for OLAP

Hello all,

We are using Analysis edition for OLAP for Bex query as source and the tool doesn't sort the Fiscal Month as desired. When the query runs for the first time the data comes as in the order how it is shown in Bex query result. But as soon as the user drags OUT the Fiscal Month field for their analysis purpose and adds it back it NO longer maintains the Sort order for Fiscal Month. Is there a work around or a fix in any of the patches/releases?

We are on BO4.1 SP2 P6, Source: Bex Query (BW7.3 on HANA)

 

First run with screenshot showing correct sort order and incorrect sort order after remove/add back fiscal month.

Merge Prompts - SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1

Our OLAP View has 3 sheets, each out of different query from a common cube connnection.

All the 3 queries has exactly same input variables.

 

From Promt merge functionality, could we expect user to enter the variable just once for all the 3 sheets?

Now, clicking on each sheets - prompts user each time.

 

Observation:

Clicking on merge prompt in the prompt screen changes the name of the connection to "SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse"

 

Any help is highly appreciated

Incorrect sort for Year/Period

Hi,

 

In my OLAP report I am trying to sort year period field but it is giving wrong output.

 

 

Please check below snaps to understand it more.

I had made Year/Period filed Display as key and am trying to sort it in ascending order but unable to sort it. But at backend in BEx I am able to sort it in correct way.

 

I’m not sure we can create a variable, in OLAP, to strip some characters and get aresult with only MM.YYYY(001.2013).

Analysis edition for OLAP - List of values are not coming

Hi,

Analysis edition for OLAP created on BEx query

it has prompts (with materials, plants) multiple values

when clicked on prompt material (list of values) report is hang, but for plant values are coming.

 

list Values for material are showing in BEx report. It has 20000 materials.

In CMC, servers - Analysis services setting increased cells from 100000 to 200000.

 

But still getting same problem?

 

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
