Hi,
I am trying to use the Analysis for OLAP version. I built a query directly based on cube, and select two column of key figures and click 'add' function of the 'Calculations', but it will throw the error message as 'Formula is invalid'. Then I tried other functions, it looks all the Calculation fail with the same error, does anyone has some suggestion about this? Thanks a lot.

Hi Experts, In an Analysis Workspace for OLAP.I have put in a filter on the key figures then tried to save the application. When I open the Workspace again, The filter I saved it with is not applied, it shows the original list of key figures as defined in the BEX Query. I would like to understand why the filter is not applied on Key figures?
Hi there,
Please help me in fixing the issue, I tried creating OLAP connection to Microsoft cubes and which was successful. But when we try to create a workspace from BO analysis, I see the below error.
Please advice.
From the machine it says "MDAS service is running and that the database client software has been installed on the machine hosting the MDAS service"
- I checked in the server which DEV and APS server is running fine with Multi-Dimensional analysis service.
- Do we need the client software ( Microsoft ) on the server ???
Hello all,
We are using Analysis edition for OLAP for Bex query as source and the tool doesn't sort the Fiscal Month as desired. When the query runs for the first time the data comes as in the order how it is shown in Bex query result. But as soon as the user drags OUT the Fiscal Month field for their analysis purpose and adds it back it NO longer maintains the Sort order for Fiscal Month. Is there a work around or a fix in any of the patches/releases?
We are on BO4.1 SP2 P6, Source: Bex Query (BW7.3 on HANA)
First run with screenshot showing correct sort order and incorrect sort order after remove/add back fiscal month.
Any pointers highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Anil
Hi Guys, Whenever I open a saved analysis workspace from the BI Platform and try to rename the worksheet/Tab, then save it with the changes-I get the attached error message. I also same error message when trying to add multiple tabs at once in to the Workspace. Any ideas why this keeps happening...

Hi experts,
I have a problem with Analysis for OLAP, this is the steps to explain:
1) On BI Launch Pad, create a new analysis document
2) Choose a BEx query
3) Select the variable's values
4) Ok, the report is on the screen, with with columns, lines and values...
5) Save this document on Favorites folder (for example)
6) Close the Analysis for OLAP
7) Go to Favorite folder and open the analysis document saved in previous steps
8) THE PROBLEM: Analysis for OLAP prompt again to select the BEx query.
This occur with some BEx, with other BEx queries the analysis only prompt the BEx variables.
I suspect that could be some permission issue, but I using a administrator user.
I'm working with BO 4.1 SP3 and BW 7.01
Thanks for all help!

Is it possible to create customized hierarchy in OLAP?

Hi all,
I defined a OLAP connection for accessing a MS SQL 2008 cube. I'd like to manage also security issues, like the correct visibility of data for specific users.
For example, I have a sales data cube containing information of different countries. I define a OLAP connection for that cube and I create a Analysis view of that data.
want to manage data segregation (some users can only see data from Italy, other users can only see data from England, etc). I'm reading also some manuals and it seems I can't decide this kind of data segregation via SAP BO. Is it so? Do I have to manage these issues using MS SQL server authentication and security or there is a way to manage also with BO Security?
Thanks all for the support!
Hi,
In Analysis for OLAP there is possibility to store personal variants with additional option --> default.
Please share with me, have you have found any other serviceableness for that than marking one of personal variants as default?
Thanks
Marcin
My users have many AOLAP reports that use HANA calculation views as their data source. When these users export the reports to Excel, the resulting Excel file contains twice as many tabs as are present on the reports. For each tab on the AOLAP report, the Excel file contains an accompanying tab with a "+" suffix in the tab name (e.g., "Customers", "Customers+", "Vendors", "Vendors+", etc.); this accompanying tab lists the criteria (e.g., start date, end date, etc.) the user selected upon loading the report. Is there a way to suppress these criteria tabs...or perhaps include only one such tab, since the criteria is the same for the entire report and, therefore, doesn't need to be repeated for every tab?
Also, the 'Export to XLSX' dialog box that appears when the user presses the 'Export to Excel' button is confusing:
Does anyone know how get around downloading a workspace to excel with an Infinity symbol? Screen shot below is the error message with the infinity symbol on the Margin % column. I can modify the cube to have zero values in the measure but the change to the cube would result in a very large report with lots of zero records which I am trying to avoid. I can also download the workspace as a csv but I then lose all the formatting of the report.
Currently running: SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Patch 2 Version: 14.1.2.1195
2008 MDAS database.
Our OLAP View has 3 sheets, each out of different query from a common cube connnection.
All the 3 queries has exactly same input variables.
From Promt merge functionality, could we expect user to enter the variable just once for all the 3 sheets?
Now, clicking on each sheets - prompts user each time.
Observation:
Clicking on merge prompt in the prompt screen changes the name of the connection to "SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse"
Any help is highly appreciated
Thanks

Hello Experts,
Is there any settings to default the country specific number and date formatting in BO OLAP Analysis.
I am looking to change the number format and date format to default to US format so as to not to change the formats for evey single OLAP reports in the Analysis Workspace.
Thanks,
Jothi Kswamy
Does the custom hierarchy (compact display in rows) option work when the Analysis report is migrated to Design Studio? We plan on using Design Studio to take Analysis for OLAP reports mobile and want to confirm this feature still works. Our customers are very excited about this feature.
thanks

Hello,
Since we use IE10 with BO 4.1 SP2 patch 4, we have everytime a warning message a Use the device 'standards' in your application.
IE10 parameters are :
-Navigator mode : affichage de compatibilité IE10 (in french)
-Document mode : normes
What is the solution to suppress this message ?
Thank you in advance.

Nicolas
Hi,
My business partners would like to be able to filter on child dimension members, but not have Analysis automatically include and display their parents.
Is there a way to un-select the parents? For example, see below how Analysis is including all the parents when the user only wants member "S0290" to be displayed on the report?:
In addition to displaying all the parents on the report, my business partners feel that the aggregated parent totals could be interpreted incorrectly since the total is only representing the filtered child amount. They do understand that they can manually hide each parent total, but having Analysis automatically exclude/hide the parents would be much more productive.
If this automatic parent exclusion ability is not available in BI4.0 SP8.3, is it available in a later version?
Thank you,
Michael J Titera
